THE AIA CLOSING CHECKLIST

Throughout the week, the AIA is a Montessori school. We provide a checklist of closing clean up duties to be completed on Saturday night, and by noon a.m. on Sunday, at the latest. A portion of your deposit may be forfeited if the clean-up is incomplete.

All doors must be shut at 11 p.m. Saturday night and music must be turned down or off by 11 p.m. and the building must be empty and locked no later than 12 a.m.

Main Hall

Ceiling fans turned to ‘low’

Lights turned ‘off’

All sets of doors closed and securely locked

Tables wiped and stacked against the wall in the storage room

Chairs folded and stacked neatly on carts in storage room

Please stack away from electrical boxes - see picture on the inside of the door

Floors swept

All decorations removed, including lighting, cables, nails, pins, string, etc

All food, drink, alcohol and catering equipment removed

Bar

Bar must be empty - no garbage, empties, beverages or glassware

Bar, sink, and all surfaces wiped down

Ice removed from freezer - spread leftover ice on grass outside

Window boards locked into place

Leave bar unlocked on Sunday for cleaners

Entrance, back deck and grounds

Remove all food and drink from the grounds

Pick up all litter, including from the garden beds and around the entranceway

Place ladders back in storage room; large ladder placed back behind the building

Wedding arch - please place on the ceremony platform on Saturday and return it behind the building after the ceremony - please don’t leave this on the platform overnight

Garbage and Recycling

Please separate your garbage (black bags) and recycling (clear bags)

Extra black and clear bags are under the small sink in the kitchen

When bags are full, please move to the small blue shed at the south side of the front deck, just past the garden area - there is a large black garbage bin, a green compost bin and a large blue bin. Once full, please move any garbage, bottles, recycling to the bins at the end of the driveway.

All cigarette butts should be removed from the ashcans, or the grounds, and placed in the garbage bin.

Washrooms

Please make sure all toilets and urinals are flushed and free from paper and empty garbage cans

Turn lights off

Kitchen

All food must be removed from fridge, stove, oven

Fridge wipe down inside and outside

Stovetop cleaned

Floors swept

Tables wiped counters wiped

Locked cupboards will be checked to make sure cupboards have remained locked all weekend

Parking

One vehicle may remain parked at the AIA over the weekend, the spot closest to the AIA.

Vehicle must not block the island burgundy van in any way.

If you need to move your vehicle to accommodate the catering van, please move to Ward’s dock area and remove your vehicle Sunday or Monday morning via airport.

Playground

Please don’t allow any glass in the playground - use plastic cups

Check for butts, garbage etc.
